Se dan a conocer los resultados de un estudio realizado con doce estómagos de Falco sparverius cinnamominus capturados en el período 1985-87 en el valle aluvial del río Paraná medio. El estudio se realizó con la finalidad de conocer el espectro alimentario, tamaño de las presas y amplitud trófica del nicho. Los resultados revelan una dieta carnívora, compuesta por insectos, roedores y anfibios con un espectro trófico integrado por 7 entidades taxonómicas. Los valores del Úldice de importancia relativa, destacan la predominancia de los insectos, en particular de los Acrididae. Los taxa restantes constituirían categorías secundarias de alimento. En relación a la equiparidad estacional de la dieta, se observó que se mantiene uniforme a lo largo del año.
The results of stomach contens analysis of twelve Falco sparverius shot during 1985-1987 are given. This is the first contribution to the knowledge of the feeding ecology of this bird in the Middle Parana River F1oodplain. The study was carried out in order to know the feeding spectrum, prey size and niche breadth. The results shown a carnivorous diet, consisting of inscets, rodents and amphibians, with 7 taxa. The values of the relative importance indcx bring out the predominance of the inscets, particularly the Acrididae. The remaining taxa, should be secondary food categories. In relation to seasonal variation ofthe diet, it was observcd that the diet was uniform throughout the year.
