Abstract:
The purpose of this work, inside the differential epidemiology, were: to classify the deaths in a general hospital for cause and their subsequent analysis and to analyze the mortality in youngs and young adults. We studied 4490 patients admitted at the Hospital Prof. Dr. Bernardo Houssay" between January and July, 1994. The number of dead patients was 189 (4.25% of the total of the admitted patients), of these 51% were female and the 49% male. The 18% of the total of dead patients had an imprecise diagnostic and the other 82% had a cause of dead well definite. The range of age that had the higher mortality was 60-90 years old, so 68% of the total deaths were in this range.
